Art and Photography Show 2022

This year marks something special for our students and staff. This is the first time in three years that we have been able to stage an actual physical show, and if you have not yet seen it, then I do heartily recommend it. It reminds me of the importance of seeing art up close and personal, particularly in a world that has been so dominated by the ‘screen’ in recent months and years. In the real world, colours jump to life, brushwork creates rich textures of expression, whilst 3D forms combine fragility and precision in equal measure, carving out and dissecting the space around them! The richness and diversity of our students’ work has never seemed quite so vibrant as it appears now! Somebody said that whilst the sciences can explain why we live, the Arts give us a reason to live! What better validation could we have for the importance of the creative arts, particularly against the global backdrop we are currently facing! Picasso once said that ‘Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life’ and looking at our students this year, I can certainly see what he meant! And, if you have missed the show, fear not, this website represents the next best thing!
